Natural Turf Fields

image8

We are very nostalgic when it comes to natural grass sports fields, and the quality of your field will certainly show.  We offer a very wide array of services for your fields, if you don't see it listed please shoot us an e-mail or give us a call as we can probably get it done!

  • Pre-emergent herbicide to prevent weed seeds from germinating
  • Post-emergent herbicide for the weed seeds that make it through the pre-emergent
  • Pesticide treatments for ants, chinch bugs, army worms, and many other unwanted pests
  • Custom blended fertilizer applications tailored to your soils needs
  • Top-dressing with silica "tee" sand approved by the USGA to increase your fields wear tolerance.  It also increases porosity for better water and air absorption deep in the root zone.  Pro Turf utilizes the Turf Tender from Dakota to evenly distribute the sand to within 1/8th inch increments.
  • Soil amendments such as humic acid to help your field use all available nutrients.  What good is your fertilizer doing if only 60% is actually being utilized?
  • Aeration with the Patented Aeravator by 1st Products.  The Aeravator works much better than traditional coring aerators,  instantly relieved your soils compaction and helping to level uneven and unsafe playing surfaces.  Not to mention, the field is ready to play immediately after treatment since you don't have the unsightly cores to dispose of.  Pro Turf utilizes this treatment before top dressing to increase the effectiveness of the sand.  This helps to immediately change the soil profile by getting the sand to the root zone for all the benefits mentioned above!
  • Crown Restoration.  If your field is starting to hold water in the middle, chances are your crown has deteriorated and needs a little attention.  Laser assisted grading allows us to re-establish your field's crown to where it needs to be.

Synthetic Turf Fields

Not exactly maintenance free

  • Disinfect for STAPH BACTERIA.  It's no secret that staph bacteria has been running rampant through locker rooms at alarming rates.  The problem is, Staph doesn't just stay in the locker rooms.  Staph is easily transferred on the field through scrapes/rubs and contact to be readily picked up by any other player, further spreading the flesh-eating bacteria.  Fields are subjected to every bodily fluid imaginable; blood, urine, sweat, and vomit are pretty common. Pro-Turf is able to disinfect on your schedule for a safer and cleaner playing surface.
  • Top Dressing to replace crumb rubber that has been lost due to run-off, wind, and general use.  Your field may begin to show undulations which can be an indicator of missing infill.
  • Multi-tine Aeravation to evenly redistribute the infill.  Sometimes your fields undulations are just due to uneven distribution of your infill.  The Aeravator's vibratory motion helps to evenly redistribute your crumb rubber and/or sand infill.
  • Sagging fibers that aren't stand upright anymore are due in large part to static electricity.  Pro-turf is able to spray to help eliminate the pesky charge
  • Seam Repair

Staphylococcus Bacteria

Staph or its more deadly counterpart MRSA, has been found residing on slit film synthetic turf surfaces and its infill.  Research has yet to determine, definitively, how long or how prolific the bacteria is within the turf, but with the right precautions you can rest easy knowing you've taken the necessary steps to make your field a safer place.
